The 2017 BOMBUSS meeting was hosted at the USDA-ARS-Pollinating Insects Biology, Management and Systematics Research Unit in Logan, UT.

BOMBUSS Organizers

  • Ashley Rohde (Utah State Univeristy and USDA-ARS) – Ashley is a Ph.D. student in the Strange Lab. She is studying the interactions of landscape, habitat and genetics in bumble bee and mason bee species restricted to high elevation distributions.
  • Jamie Strange (USDA-ARS) – Jamie is a research entomologist at the Pollinating Insects Research Unit. His interests are bumble bee management, conservation and population genetics.
  • Amber Tripodi (USDA-ARS)– Amber is a post-doctoral research associate in the Strange Lab. Her interests include bumble bee population genetics and the parasites and pathogens of bees.
  • Neal Williams (UC-Davis)– Neal is an assistant professor of entomology at UC-Davis. His work covers a broad range of topics, including bumble bee management, conservation and ecology.
  • Hollis Woodard (UC- Riverside) – Hollis is an assistant professor of entomology at UCRiverside. Her interests include bumble bee nutritional ecology, genomics and Alaska.
